This week we got to go to the pumpkin patch and visit an apple orchard. I had a really hard time deciding which pumpkin I wanted. I chose the really round one in the middle of the picture.
This is one of the apples I picked. It was one of the juiciest apples I have ever seen. When my mom made apple crisp from them juice kept running and squirting all over her.
After we picked some apples we got to go make apple cider. First we had to pick a bunch of apples. They were really heavy.
Then we had to wash them. The water was really cold.
Next we put them in a REALLY loud machine that ground them all up. My dad did it first cause I was kind of scared.
Then we put the mushed up apples into some cloth and tied up the cloth with a string.
Then you put it into this thing and turned the handle to get out all the juice.
It was fun to watch the juice come out of the machine. I couldn't wait to try it.
Here I am helping my dad pour our juice into the bottles. We got to taste it and it was so good.
This week I helped my mom make cookies for the neighbors. I read the recipe all by myself.
I got to watch them melt in the oven.
My mom poured the hot wax into the mold.
Then we got to pop them out. Now we have pumpkin crayons for Halloween.
